JP Tha Hustler is an iTunes charting Hip-Hop Producer for Grim Reality Entertainment with 20+ years experience, specializing in Trap, Dark Trap, Boom Bap and West Coast Production. JP Tha Hustler got his start in the mid-90's in Southern California with musical partner Mario Alonso aka Crazy M.A.C. They were childhood best friends and explored making music together at age 15. JP focused on production while Mario was a drummer and poetry writer. They recorded two songs together before Mario passed away in 1997.

 

In 1999, JP connected with Houston based rapper Po' White Trash (then living in Hollywood, CA) and produced half of his debut album "Po' Like Dis" which released nationally in 2001. The other half of the album was produced by Lil Jon and Dungeon Family and featured Tiny from Xscape and CeeLo Green.

 

In 2001, JP met Cyco from Insane Poetry and together they formed Grim Reality Entertainment, releasing 2 albums together, as well as several compilation albums and digital singles.

 

In 2011, JP took over Grim Reality Entertainment, signing several artists whom he provided production for while also providing outside production to other labels and artists. From 2011 through 2025, he organized and promoted over 150 music shows and tour dates for various artists (Grim Reality Entertainment artists as well as independent artists). Most notable was the “Underground Untied” music festival and tour series, held in different states in the U.S.

 

In 2025, he re-structured Grim Reality Entertainment as an artist services label providing production, mixing and mastering for independent artists. He also teamed up with long-time collaborator and remix producer, Lupah Phaiym, and formed the production team known as Soul Taker Productions.
